My child loves the outdoors. She has climbed 2 14,000 ft mountains. She loves learning new animal facts and all about the environment.

What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreAnimals are unique and cool! For instance, the red panda is in its own family! There's no other animal quite like it. I feel free when I get to spend time outside. You know what else I love about nature?! Trees make oxygen, and, without them, we wouldn't survive. Nature takes care of us, so we need to take care of nature.
Elephants are my favorite animal. They have large pads on their feet to help walk quietly. Silent steps! It's also interesting that they separate into adult male herds and female herds with the babies. They are really protective over their calves. Mom's can make a special call to missing babies. They're one of the smartest animals on the planet.
I love camping! I get to spend time with all of nature and observe the creatures. I can quietly observe animals in their own habitats. One time, I camped for an entire summer with my family. One of our stops on our cross country camp trip was at the Carlsbad Caverns National Park. I got to observe the Mexican free- tailed bat flight. It was very cool to watch them swirl through the air in different directions looking for food. Did you know that there is a type of bat that is bigger than I am?
