Learn more“I love the smells and the way everything is so captivating, no matter what season. Trees swaying in the wind and woodpeckers hammering sound like music. I love to spot animals and watch how they interact with their environment. I love to see all the million little pieces that nobody else pays attention to like the spores on a fern or the intricate beauty of a spider’s web. I am always trying to learn as much as I can about the natural world and how we can protect it.”
My favorite animal is a capybara because they don’t really have any natural predators, so they evolved without a lot of fear. They are so relaxed and easy going, and have even been seen riding on alligators. Their whiskers are adorable, and they are big, soft prey animals who don’t know they are supposed to be prey. They are semi-aquatic, with webbed feet, and can even sleep under water. They are very smart, unusual rodents!
I love most anything outdoors and would rather be outside than inside. I love to ride my horses, camp, hike, kayak, bike, ski, swim, and play! It doesn’t matter what the weather is like, my dogs and I are exploring. We live next to thousands of acres of BLM land so I spend most of my time there or playing in the small creek on our property. I also really love learning about geology and archaeology! We have a lot of obsidian around and I found a spear tip!
