Rowen loves all things nature! She is an avid fisherman and hiker. She helps breed & raise a variety of different snakes in our home!

I am very interested in the life cycle of plants and animals. At my house we have corn snake and ratsnake eggs. We take care of them by putting them in an incubator. I’m so excited to watch them hatch. They are so tiny when they are first born and look like little worms! My sisters and I love naming all of them. I also love nature because of all of the beautiful colors and calming noises.
One of my favorite animals is a bald eagle. I love all of the different colors on it. A fun fact is that the baby eaglets get their white head once they are about five years old! I had became interested in bald eagles because my class has been watching eagles on a live stream camera from the Cincinnati Zoo every morning and we check on them in the afternoon. They had two eggs and they both were not duds. The eaglets are so fuzzy and cute!
My favorite activity is going on our family’s pontoon boat, fishing, hiking the shores, exploring, and find crystal selenite. My sisters and I named it Crystal Cove! When I’m fishing I catch bluegill, pumpkin seed bluegill, musky, catfish, and sometimes turtles! But we carefully release the turtles back. I watch my Dad clean fillet the fish that we keep and we eat it. It is so so delicious! Yum. While we hike the shores and woods surrounding the lake, we collect trash to help our community.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Jr. Ranger, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
