What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreHe likes to climb trees and watch birds. We spend more time outside than in and he adores learning what animals and bugs like to eat so he can feed them a treat. He is usually taking lead and taking us down the animal made trails as we hike just to see what we can find and how they travel vs the planned out path. I am called this way and that outside all day as to take a peek at his latest find as he tells me all about it or is asking me every detail to research about something new.
His favorite general 'animal' are snakes. Our resident king snake is a close second, but his favorite favorite is a ring neck snake! His big reason is they just look so darn cute with their little ring on the neck. But he is just fascinated by how snakes in general move and even can crawl right round up a tree for their dinner.
Climbing trees. No hesitation on that answer. Ever since he was a little tyke I was finding him crawling up trees. So I just lead him along how to keep steady hands and feet before he moves next and off he goes. He has traveled along a tree just following the shiny trail of a slug along the moss and lichen as far as he could see one time. He also says his favorite part is when he finds a praying mantis to hang out with for a while.
