What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreHe loves going on imaginative adventures outside, collecting rocks, leaves, and identifying mushrooms. He has always been drawn to the water and would spend all day swimming if he could, but what he loves most about nature is how peaceful he feels whenever he steps outside with the sun on his face and takes in the sounds and beauty of the outside world. Nature keeps him in the moment, breathing deeply, and feeling calm.
In all honesty it’s a hippo because his stuffed animal he’s had since he was a baby is a hippo and still sleeps in his bed with him each night. However, he loves our four cats most, and we call River the cat whisperer now because he gets them all to sit in his lap and will remain there patiently with them for hours. Next to cats, he’s always had a fascination with snakes, but he really just loves all animals. He’s so respectful of all creatures and fascinated by the food chain.
He loves hiking and camping with his family, fishing with his dad, playing different sports and biking outside in all the varying seasons, reading in the hammock, and especially playing in water. It’s hard to choose just one thing since we take as many activities outside as we can, even if it’s just drawing outside. River has a great appreciation for the natural world and constantly tells us facts about animals and the planet.
