What does River love most about nature?

River loves sharing nature with other kids! Whether in the backyard or at camp, he’s always pointing out animal tracks, cool bugs, or funny cloud shapes. His family calls him “nature’s hype man” because he gets so excited showing others snail shells, poop piles, and mysterious holes that must lead to secret dens.

What is River's favorite animal—and why?

River found his “spirit animal” at age 3: a baby red-eared slider lost in the grass. He gently carried it back to the pond and has loved turtles ever since. Their calm nature and quiet strength inspire him, and he still gets just as excited every time he spots one in the wild.

What is River's favorite outdoor activity?

Living by a river fits River perfectly. He spends hours exploring the shoreline for turtles, cool rocks, and picking up trash. One day, he found a Blue Heron tangled in fishing line. After rescuing it with his dad, they brought it to a bird rehabber. “Bluey” still visits from time to time!
