Learn moreShe loves watching animals and how they interact with their environment. She is curious, kind and approaches with respect! She has been known to befriend crows and vultures in the community; some have even brought her gifts!
She loves every animal, but is especially fascinated by turtles. River likes to learn about and watch the adaptable and intelligent creatures go about their day. As a member of the Turtle Clan, she has grown up hearing traditional indigenous origin stories that feature the turtle as a foundation for earth and all of its wonders.
River has been canoeing and camping since she was a baby. Now that she’s older, when we camp, she also enjoys searching under leaf litter for snakes and salamanders. A favorite activity includes peering into hollowed out trees to see what critters might be inside.
