What does Rio love most about nature?

"I like to explore the wild!' Rio shares. His greatest love is the thrill he gets when exploring and learning. He is curious about anything and everything in our natural world. Whether caring for the plants, observing animals that pass, or cleaning the trash out of the lake, he approaches each new adventure outside with awareness and a deep yearning to understand the way living creatures & ecosystems around him work together. What is Rio's favorite animal—and why?

Easy- turtles! Rio loves turtles and wants to be a turtle vet so he can SAVE THE TURTLES! He wants to protect and care for them. Snapping turtles are one of his favorite types of turtles. Why is it his favorite? "Their hard shells," he shares. That makes them unique. Their slow speed is also fascinating. When they move slowly, that allows us to watch them with detail. Of course, they can also swim and go on land, which makes them interesting too!

What is Rio's favorite outdoor activity?

One of Rio's favorite outdoor activities is finding rocks. To him, it is like finding buried treasure! Rocks are really interesting- they come in many different sizes, colors, shapes, and textures. He loves digging, finding new rocks, admiring the worms, roly-polies, centipedes, or caterpillars, he may find in the process, & adding new treasures to his rock collection.
