What does Raylai love most about nature?

Raylai loves the beauty of nature. She enjoys discovering the diversity and the colors of plants and animals. The way different animals have developed to live in each unique environment. She knows the importance of each species and how if one is lost, it disrupts the ecosystem. She believes each person can make a difference.

What is Raylai's favorite animal—and why?

Raylai's favorite animal is the axolotl. She loves their smiling faces and how their gills look like feathers. They are unique and rare, and that is what intrigues her. She is interested in how they regenerate body parts and why they rarely reach the adult stage. Most importantly, she loves telling people about them, when most people have never heard of an axolotl.

What is Raylai's favorite outdoor activity?

Raylai's favorite outdoor activity is hiking and beach combing. We live in the middle of the country, so going to the ocean is a special treat. We are lucky to have the technology to scan photos of shells and plants and be able to look up what they are. Exploring new places, even the woods behind our house is one of her favorite things to do. She is a sponge for information and is often teaching us about the things she discovers.
