What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreOwen loves learning about food chains in nature. He loves asking questions about who eats what, and learning how some animals can protect themselves. Owen thinks that animal defenses like camouflage, poison, and spikes are the coolest!
Owen's current favorite animal is a scorpion. They have claws and poison which is super fun. He loves that they are a little bit dangerous but he is also very happy that they are not native to our state, whew! Owen is excited to hopefully see a real scorpion in a zoo someday.
Owen loves exploring the creek by our house. We bring nets to catch (and release) snails, look for signs of local beavers, and even catch an occasional glimpse of a heron! After our hikes we return home to look up any new creatures in our nature books. We also add any special pinecones or leaves to our ever growing collection.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Jr. Ranger, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
