(taken from a direct conversation with Otto) Otto loves that nature "makes use feel alive". It gives "space to breathe", provides "flowers that bring use beauty", and it gives us a "place to play, look for animals, and find interesting plants". Whether its worms in the soil, toads on the ground, or trout in the streams, Otto loves that nature gives a diverse spread of opportunities to have fun, learn something new, and discover exciting things both big and small. That is what he loves most.
Otto's favorite animals are bees, specifically bumble bees. He loves the experiencing of "booping" them while they buzz around a flower filled butterfly bush. They are his favorite animal because "they pollinate flowers so we have food and air to breath" and "they are bees but they don't want to sting you unless you try to hurt them." Bumble bees are "basically tiny flying panda bears" that are "cute, helpful and so important to our world."
Otto's favorite activity outdoors is going on wilderness walks at any of our local conservation land sites. At his favorite, Sheep Hill, he loves wandering through the fields, woods and small bodies of water to find nature "during all four seasons" from "salamanders, and toads, and bluebirds and tadpoles and dragonfly nymphs." It's the experience of seeing life happening, discovering interesting critters and learning about how they all exist in their natural environments.
