What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn more“I like to learn things about trees and animals and look at sticks and rocks and stuff.” “I like to protect the earth from litter and pollution. Bad guys hurt the earth with litter.” He also likes swimming in the ocean or the lake. Otis told us “nature is kind of peaceful to me”.
Otis’ current favorite animal is an octopus. He says “I like that they have 8 tentacles and that they change colors to match the coral.” He says that he likes that they are wiggly and have suction cups to help catch prey. “Some of them have a shell or make little forts to hide, that’s pretty cool and they are really smart”
“Playing races at the park and collecting bugs to look at.” He said one time he found two worms and put them in dirt to look at them and then let them go. He also found a grub. He likes to take hikes with us and sit on a log to have a snack. He likes to look at mushrooms.
