Receive Text UpdatesOrson loves that nature is the first thing that humans knew about and nature supports all life, including people! Nature is our world and humans are a part of it. Orson is constantly wondering why we harm habitats so we try to focus on what we can impact which is the land we get to tend under our feet by gardening. He also loves learning all he can about animals and sharing his knowledge and passion with others! When we’re at the zoo, people often stop to listen to him share facts.
Orson’s favorite dinosaur is a spinosaurus! He likes that it is the largest carnivore that paleontologists have discovered. The long snout is impressive to him. Dinosaurs were Orson’s first fascination, where he could discern different species based on the smallest differences around age 3. His favorite raptor is a peregrine falcon! Orson loves them because their stooping speed of 200 mph is very impressive to him. He has aspirations of helping raptors that need to be rescued, like Chris Kratt!
Orson loves to listen to birds while we’re out on a hike or just in our backyard. Their songs and calls are beautiful and loud or quiet and they all sound different and amazing to him. He also loves identifying plants, especially California native plants and understands that ecosystems and habitats need to be supported for all forms of life to thrive. Orson loves leading hikes and his attuned ear can follow an interesting call or leaves being crushed by an animal skittering by quickly.
