What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreEffie loves protecting the trails, learning about animals, and growing plants. Whenever we camp, she always makes sure there’s no trash, and has a leave no trace mentality. She loves biking and hiking on trails, floating the river, and learning about the rock formations. In addition, you’ll often find her ready with her binoculars to spot eagles, hawks, and other birds.
Effie’s favorite animal is our dog Ziggy, because she’s always ready to adventure with us. She makes hiking more fun, and makes us feel safe when we’re hiking in the mountains. She’s also good at seeking out different scents that make us more curious about the plants and other animal smells around us too.
She loves hiking because it’s such a great way to see everything. We can go slowly to stop and see the little bugs or worms as we go, but it’s also something our whole family can do together. We have so many great hiking trails, and we can look for animal tracks in the snow or mud depending on the season.
