Receive Text UpdatesOpal lives on a farm, so an appreciation for all the things that go into taking care of animals, and also how animals take care of us is central. Opal is very fascinated by insects, especially bees (we have a small apiary). Opal loves hiking and foraging, and looking out for creatures that also eat the same things as she does.
Opals favorite animal (currently) is the wētā. We recently visited NZ, and found a small one. She learned about how this specific species filled in a gap in their ecosystem by eating the tiny insects that were beginning to overtake the forests.
Opals favorite outdoor activity is a toss up between floating down the river on her paddle board, and riding her bike with her grandma. Any time Opal can relax and be outside and have an adventure, the girl is IN.
