Nora would live outside if we let her! She’d love to be an ecologist or naturalist when she’s older. She has a big heart to help wildlife.
Thank you for generously supporting Nora in this year’s competition. Your participation helps empower the National Wildlife Federation in their mission to protect wildlife, restore habitats, and inspire the next generation of conservationists.
What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreIt is so calming. Hiking a trail can help you get relaxed by hearing all the sounds like the birds, crickets and rustling leaves. I love the sound of rushing water the most. There are so many colors to look at as well which makes nature so beautiful. It is fun to write in my nature journal when I am exploring. The animals are also awesome. I love animals!
There are so many animals it is hard to choose. I will narrow it down to cats and opossums. House cats are just there when you need a cute face. Wild cats are fierce and agile. Now to the opossum. They may not be as cute as cats, but they have cool surviving skills like falling down and pretending they are dead and giving off a horrible smell. That’s why I like cats and opossums the most.
There are so many to choose from but I will go with walking in nature. There are so many different places you can explore like state and local parks. There are so many animals you can find. I especially like looking for birds on my walks. And again, the sounds are so cool and calming. Canoeing and fishing would probably be my second choice.
