What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreNiko loves nature—he enjoys walks, exploring, and spotting insects and animals, especially birds. He has a great memory for bird names and loves using his microscope to examine tiny discoveries and take photos. He’s curious and eager to learn but cautious around bees and wasps after being stung a few times (he isn’t allergic). Niko thrives in outdoor settings and is always excited to explore and learn.
Niko loves birds, especially the bald eagle—it’s his favorite because it’s the bird of the United States and, he believes, the biggest bird in Illinois. It’s also the largest bird he’s seen so far. He thinks birds are amazing creatures and is always excited to learn more about them.
Niko is passionate about wildlife photography and hopes to become a wildlife photographer or ornithologist. His favorite outdoor activity is birding—he loves observing and photographing birds because of their colors, unique features, and behaviors. He finds nature exploration fun and exciting, especially when it involves birds.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Jr. Ranger, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
