What does Niko love most about nature?

Niko, most of all, loves nature’s complex beauty. Nature can be equally calming as it is dangerous. He loves that there is always more to learn about nature, in fact there are plenty of things that haven’t even been discovered yet! Niko believes we are here to care for the earth, to be intertwined with it, yet most people have lost touch with nature! Niko also loves that nature is always in need of an advocate, whether it be a misunderstood creature or endangered wildlife.

What is Niko's favorite animal—and why?

Niko has always shocked his classmates, teachers, friends, and anyone else who has ever asked “what is your favorite animal?”. While most children say dogs, zebras, lions, etc. Niko proudly proclaims his favorite is Tardigrades because they were the first living organism, they can survive anywhere from the Himalayan hot springs to Antarctica, they can even survive outer space! He believes they are a microscopic organism that doesn’t get enough recognition!

What is Niko's favorite outdoor activity?

Anything outdoors! Fishing, exploring, bushcraft, survival skills, setting up mock-habitats, etc. Once a year we also set up with a big sheet and lights to attract moths, it’s lots of fun and we get to see so many different moths!
