What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreHe has always felt connected to nature. He feels a sense of wonder at its beauty. No matter the environment being in nature brings out as sense of adventure for him. He routinely does things in his daily life to protect nature like picking up liter and even conserving water at home. He likes to share his connection to nature with family, friends, and people in the community. From the blades of grass in the front yard to the stars in the sky nature has always been in his heart.
He loves all animals but his favorite animal is frogs. He loves how such a small animal can be so beneficial to a large ecosystem. He likes that even the presence of a frog population can indicate the health of an environment. He also likes that frogs eat bugs, can be gross, and slimy. Frogs are complex creatures that come in all colors and some even deadly. He loves frogs and relates to these small creatures that have the ability to be a great asset to its community.
His favorite outdoor activity has to be camping. He camps at different state parks during spring showers, the heat of summer, and even in the cold of winter. Sometimes during the school year when life is busy he will camp out in our backyard. He enjoys laying under the stars and listening to the sounds of nature as he falls asleep. He loves waking up early to the morning bird calls. He loves the surprise encounters with bugs or small animals. Camping is the marshmallow in his s'more of life.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Jr. Ranger, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
