My favorite thing about nature is all the animals! I love learning about how they use nature to camouflage, build habitats, and hunt. Animal facts and trivia are one of my favorite things to read. There are so many different kinds of animals and amazing ways they adapt and interact with our world to survive.
My favorite animal is a leopard gecko because I got to take on the responsibility this past year of caring for one of my own as a pet! His name is Theodore, but since leopard geckos are often called leos - we call him Theo the Leo. I love his colorful tail and body and learning about how to make his habitat just right for him. Did you know leopard geckos' tails can break off easily so they can get away quickly from predators ? I have always loved all kinds of reptiles!
My favorite outdoor activity is climbing trees and playing in our creek next to our house! When my mom calls me inside, she can often find me at the top of the tallest cedar tree behind the fence. I like getting to see all the birds and observe nature from up high. I also started trail running this year and love getting to combine two of my favorite things - running and nature! My family completes the 1000 hours outside challenge every year and we love to go camping and explore our state parks!
