What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreEVERYTHING! He loves being outside any chance he can, swimming in creeks, hiking trails, hunting for stones/fossils, looking for critters to observe and protect. He loves learning about plants, trees, fungi, & how the ecosystem works. He finds nature very educational, fungi and helps with his creativity & imagination. He has the Seek app and loves finding out what plants, mushrooms & "weeds" are edible and which are toxic so he can educate others how to be safe in nature.
He said it's hard because all animals are his favorite because each one is different and have their own special place in nature & the ecosystem but if he had to choose one it would be the bearded dragon. He has 1 as a pet and said in nature they play a big roll in the ecosystem they are native to because their both prey and predator which help balance their environment, control insects population & their burrows provide shelter for other animals. All around a great animal!
Hiking and finding creeks to play in. He said on the hikes we see all kinds of amazing stuff like reptiles, rabbits, deer, birds of prey, mushrooms growing on trees and on the ground, and in the creek he finds crawdads, menos, frogs, snakes and his favorite different types of moss that grow on the rocks & edges of the creeks.
