My son always finds a way to connect with nature. He memorizes the names of local trees and plants and loves creatures of all sizes!!
Thank you for generously supporting Micaiah in this year’s competition. Your participation helps empower the National Wildlife Federation in their mission to protect wildlife, restore habitats, and inspire the next generation of conservationists.
Ciah loves adventuring in new places, especially creeks and the prehistoric fossil beds we have here in Cincinnati. He loves learning the names of trees, plants, and animals. He respects living things and he is drawn to earth science and biology. We have had a zoo pass his entire life and he never gets enough of the beautiful zoo life we have here as well as the botanical gardens.
Ciah’s favorite animal is the wolf. He loves studying pack behavior and loves taking people how reintroducing wolves to Yellow Stone park changed the habitat and even affected the course of the river and streams. The connection between domesticated dogs and wolves draws him to man’s best friend.
Creeking, Ciah loves to have “fossil digs” and discover all of the life a creek has. He’s always connecting the dots for food webs and how each creature is needed in their community. He often collects leaves of different trees and takes notes of the interesting fungus or wildlife he’s found in that area.
