Mia

At a very young age, Mia was picking up little creatures, caring for them and naming them. A big bulfrog let her hold it and rub its belly.

What does Mia love most about nature?

Mia loves all creatures in nature, even snakes! She loves trying to catch different creatures and if they’re hurt she wants to try to “fix” or “heal” them. She loves bunnies, beavers, turtles, fish, groundhogs, turkeys, deer, lizards, worms, salamanders; even mice and rats. She wanted to pick up a wolf spider but I wouldn’t let her! She is not afraid to pick up anything! She always prefers to be outside and play at the creek, run around in the woods, and lay in the grass, staring at the clouds.

What is Mia's favorite animal—and why?

Snakes are Mia’s favorite animal. She loves how they wrap around her arm and slither around on their bellies, without needing arms or legs. She loves all the different colors and designs, and the fact that no two are the same. She has always wanted to see a real live anaconda!!! She wants a pet snake but the jury is still out on that one! We have cats and might get another dog soon.

What is Mia's favorite outdoor activity?

Mia loves to play softball, ride her bike, pogo stick, scooter, play on the trampoline, go swimming, play at the park/playground, and go for walks in the woods. Her favorite thing to do is walk through the creek looking for creatures. She knows that it’s very important to leave them in their natural habitat. She would live outside if I would allow it!
