What does Max love most about nature?

Max is captivated by the sounds of nature. He’s diligently learning the distinct calls of frogs and the enchanting songs of birds in his area. During his walks, he soaks in the symphony of the wind through the trees and he can’t resist the urge to try and identify the source of the rustling leaves. He’s always on the lookout for changing weather patterns and eagerly anticipates the sound of rain.

What is Max's favorite animal—and why?

Max LOVES snakes! He is enchanted by their smooth scales and elongated bodies. Their stealthy, predatory nature fascinates him. He has already read all of the available snake books in his school library and is trying to learn everything he can about them. On his last visit to the St. Louis Zoo, Max was lucky enough to chat with a herpetologist and ask questions about their nature and how they are shaped to give them certain advantages in their different habitats.

What is Max's favorite outdoor activity?

Max struggled to answer this question. He began listing various activities, such as swimming, fishing, cycling, sports, and walks. After some contemplation, he said, “I know. Walking through the forest and seeing the sun shine down through the tree tops. That’s my favorite outdoor activity!” Max has always appreciated the intricate details of his surroundings. His keen observation skills allow him to discover the wonders of the outdoors.
