What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreMariella is most fulfilled when outside exploring. She and her twin brother have been fortunate to spend their most recent summers in Thunder Bay on Lake Superior relishing in the gorgeous land and making a lifetime of memories. Each swim in the lake, each opportunity to meet and observe new creatures fills her heart and grows her mind. She recognizes the privilege to live on this beautiful country and land.
Mariellas list is long but she has an affinity for felines of any kind- domesticated and wild and has photos of her mom’s travels to the Serengeti on her walls- lions and leopards to cute cats. She appreciates their intelligence in particular.
Foraging - even as a young toddler mariella was gathering and tasting and smelling all that she could when out for walks. She learned this from her cherished grandma and aunties in Thunder Bay who picked wild berries by the handful. She is very interested in learning more about natural food sources and dreams about building a career as a horticulturist- possibly finding new food sources to support world hunger
