“Madagascar hissing cockroaches are my favorite. I first met one visiting the University of Tennessee Insect Zoo and the way they walked was so funny! They waddled on wood, and I noticed they like to eat fruits better than greens. At Christmas I asked Santa to bring me two hissing cockroaches. They made it through the cold night on the sleigh and I came running into my parents room yelling “I GOT THEM!!” Their names are Little Richard and Chuck Berry because those are my favorite singers. “
“I like to go outdoors on nature scavenger hunts. Sometimes I forage for cool things like a cool rock. I like to make ‘leaf kabobs’ or try to identify birds when we go to the Smokey mountains. We use that app on the phone.”
