Learn moreWhen I asked Maddox what he loves most about nature he replied nature loves me and I love it back. Nature shows us love in so many ways—through the air we breathe, the water we drink, the soil that grows our food, and the beauty that surrounds us. He sees nature as a gift that gives without asking for anything in return. To him, every tree, flower, and bird is a reminder that the Earth cares for us, and that makes him want to care for it right back.
Maddox’s favourite animal is the Scarlet Macaw because of its amazing beauty, bright colours, and cute personality. He loves that they can speak, interact with people, making them amazing pets. He also loves beetles for their incredible variety and fascinating anatomy. It’s hard for him to choose just one favorite—he loves so many animals and creatures because each one is unique and special in its own way.
Maddox’s passion is exploring nature, especially catching and observing insects. He loves researching what he finds, and recreating their natural habitats before releasing them. We are lucky to live so close to one of the largest and best trail systems. He’s enthusiastic about hiking local trails along the river, where we spot tadpoles, toads, birds, insects, fish, and geese. He also enjoys collecting nature treasures for art projects. He loves swimming, water play and fishing.
