Levi is crazy about animals. He has been most curious about reptiles, insects, arachnids and birds. He isn’t a fantasy reader, but at the age of four, he brought an insect reference book to share with his class. Though many that age didn’t share his passion for spiders, he had great teachers who encouraged his passion! My son will one day be an advocate and teacher for nature and its magnificent misunderstood creatures. I am sure of that.
Hands down a snake because they basically move around flawlessly with no legs. They can grow bigger than an American alligator. Reticulated python and green anaconda are the top contenders. He also loves to learn about dinosaurs, of which his favorite is titanoboa, a snake as wide as a door frame!
Exploring to find new animals and bugs he’s not seen in person. We always have a makeshift cage with an enormous wolf spider, toad, green tree frog or baby rabbit in our home. My son has taught me to not squish spiders, swat at flys, and really think about the significance of even the smallest bugs and creatures.
