What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreLeilani loves being outside and interacting with it. Just the other day we were at the nature park and she got a turtle swimming in the stream to come to her and eat algae out of her hand. She spent an hour with it as people walked by and watched her in awe as they don’t usually interact with people. Another example is her single-finned puffer fish friend. Ever since she was 2yrs old she finds it at the aquarium and it follows her as she walks back and forth. We have 4 yrs of videos to prove it!
Her favorite animal is the Peregrine Falcon because it can see better than a human and if it spots a fish it dives very quickly and uses its claws to dig into the fish to grab it. They also builds nests high up in the trees and feed their young.
Interacting with animals and discovering plants. Being able to touch the outside world is important to her. She likes to run through trails barefoot to feel the earth beneath her and touch plants with her hands.
