Laith is a curious, engaging boy who’s loved bugs and animals from a young age and enjoys teaching anyone who will listen all about them.
Thank you for generously supporting Laith in this year’s competition. Your participation helps empower the National Wildlife Federation in their mission to protect wildlife, restore habitats, and inspire the next generation of conservationists.
What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreHe loves how animals can live in so many different places and thinks it's cool how they have special things about them that help them survive. Like, polar bears have thick fur so they don’t freeze, and camels can go a long time without water in the desert. He feels like every animal has a superpower made just for where they live.
His favorite animal is the lion because it's strong, fast, and powerful. He also likes that they are "stealthy" and that their roar can be heard up to five miles away. His name, Laith, also means lion in Arabic.
His favorite outdoor activity is fishing because he likes to see what kinds of fish he can catch and enjoys studying them. Any time we buy a fish from the market for dinner, he won’t let us cook it until he’s had time to examine it first. He also likes fishing because it’s outdoors, and he loves being near habitats with water.
