Kinnon loves all outdoor adventures, exploring parks (pic from Interstate “pothole” State Park), and learning all about birds and animals.

What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreSeven-year-old Kinnon appreciates that nature is constantly changing, especially in Minnesota with its four seasons. He loves it when the ducks, loons, geese, sandhill cranes, brown pelicans, and others arrive each spring and then migrate south each winter. He gives names each critter and has been excited about each new "hatch" of his web-footed friends. And now he’s eagerly waiting for the spring fawns to arrive.
"100% the fox!” Soon after Kinnon was born, he received a red fox “stuffy.” The love grew to picture books and seeing real foxes, especially "Freddy," a fox that comes through the backyard by the pond. Kinnon has drawn and painted dozens of foxes; he could watch real ones all day. Foxes are always first on his list when visiting the zoo. The fox is his Spirit Animal!
Kinnon loves exploring the woods and searching for shed antlers, feathers, evidence of pileated woodpeckers, and critter tracks. He has gotten good at mimicking bird calls, and a nearby Cooper's Hawk even responds. He also loves camping, hiking, biking, boating, swimming, climbing, fishing, filling the bird feeders, and helping his Papa tap maple trees each spring. He never wants to go inside!
