Kian is all about protecting wildlife. He moves newts from the sidewalks, explores tide pools, loves mountain biking, and anything outdoors!

What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreKian’s favorite part about nature is exploring various ecosystems. From going to the coast and seeing various animals interacting in the tide pools, to finding mushrooms in the forest and learning how crucial they are to our environment. Any chance he gets, he is outside exploring the beauty of our wonderful world.
Kian has two favorite animals at the moment. The barn owl and the red panda. He recently saw the red pandas at Wildlife Safari and loved how they played together. He also learned they are an endangered mostly due to habitat loss and wants to find ways to protect them. We visit his favorite barn owl, Padawan, at Cascades Raptor Center regularly when he loves to watch him fly and catch mice.
Kian enjoys any outdoor activity, but his current favorite is gardening. He works in the garden for hours each day planting flowers, vegetables, and fruit. During the dry season it will be his task to water the garden but not to over water.
Colossal is a nationally registered professional fundraiser that inspires people to advocate for themselves and those in need. Through online competitions like Jr. Ranger, Colossal offers participants the opportunity to make their mark while also making a big impact.
