What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreKaylee loves feeling nature’s heartbeat: the whisper of leaves, shimmer of creek ripples, and glow of fireflies as night falls. She delights in tadpoles swirling beneath lily pads and crayfish scuttling under stones—each small pulse of life is a story she savors in her heart. ❤️
Kaylee’s heart belongs to the Eastern box turtle. Whether on foot, bike, or pausing mid-trail while riding a friend’s horse, she plays “turtle taxi,” lifting shells off sun-baked asphalt to shady safety. Back home she sketches every mosaic shell and builds mini wetland mud pans, clover lanes, log hideout so rescues have lasting refuge. Listed as Vulnerable, these slow wanderers prove to her that steady kindness, not speed, can change the world.
Kaylee, 8’s favorite activity is feeling the heartbeat of nature. She splashes through creek riffles with a net and trash bag, freeing water of trash and noting bugs, tadpoles, and crayfish in her journal. At dusk she zig‑zags banks, corralling frogs back to the creek and cupping blinking fireflies before setting them free. She once rehabbed a bruised box turtle, feeding it worms until it could roam. She helps and says hi to every creature, never leaving one forgotten—that’s her perfect day.
