What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreI love nature because it’s full of amazing surprises! I’ve been watching a robin family in our yard. The mommy and daddy built a nest and had four eggs—three have hatched! I write about them in my journal and watch them bring worms to their babies. I feel happy and calm when I watch them. I also dig in the dirt to find bugs and explore. Nature is my favorite place to learn and have adventures!
My favorite animal is the American Robin because the mom and dad take turns caring for their babies. I love that they work as a team—it reminds me of how families help each other. I’ve watched robins feed and protect their chicks together. It’s so sweet! Other animals do this too, like penguins, swans, and wolves. But robins are my favorite because I see them in my yard, and they feel like family birds to me.
My favorite outdoor activity is digging in the dirt to find worms and insects. I love seeing what’s hiding underground! Sometimes I find bugs I’ve never seen before, and I try to identify them using my books. I also like finding worms to help feed the baby birds in our yard. It’s fun, messy, and full of surprises. I feel like a nature explorer every time I dig!
