Start Their AdventureHe is 4 1/2 but very driven to learn. He'll turn over rocks for hours looking for new creatures and ask for all the information he can get about them. He is a very enthusiastic and animated kid. It is awesome to watch him outdoors because he's so extroverted you get to witness his excitement and thoughts as he process's new things real time. While he does get very excited, he is fantastic at handling everything with gentleness and care and releasing once we've been able to examine for a period.
It depends on the day and changes often. Birds, reptiles, amphibians, and insects are what he's had the most experience with. He loves all insects but Id say he has a special affinity for Spiders. We spend a lot of time in the woods late spring and in to summer "spider hunting". He loves catching different types of orb weavers and a new invasive addition to GA the Joro Spider.
"Creature catching". Its not just creatures though he loves exploring for different flowers and plants too. If he is outside he is searching and has a bug jar in hand at all times. He will spend the whole day outside if you let him only stopping for food and water LOL
