“I love the peace, beauty, and all of the weird but exciting animals living in it. I love exploring and watching animal behaviors, especially snake behavior because they are often misunderstood.” Jaxie is often turning over rocks, logs, boards, and anything that might have an exciting find under it. Her uncle is a herpetologist and has taught her how to “herp” and handle animals safely. She could stay outside and explore for hours and hours at a time.
“ Western Tiger Salamanders are my favorite animal because they are really amazing and even though I have never seen one in real life, I would love to have the opportunity to see one in the wild.”
Jaxie’s favorite activity is finding skinks, lizards, and snakes out in our back yard or going “creeking” anywhere she travels. Her latest finds were two different species of skinks, a worm snake, a 3 foot black rat snake, and some jumping spiders. She isn’t afraid of anything. Check out her pictures below!
