What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreHe loves the animals most! The noises that they make and the cuteness of them. He loves learning the science of how animals and plants work together; Like bees and other pollinators. Also, how plants are so cool with their flowers and foliage and how they survive in tough places.
Prairie dogs are Jasper’s favorite animal. They are so cute and have a special language. Prairie dog tunnels can be more than 100 feet long and they can run very fast. They protect each other. People make videos of prairie dogs calling them by individual names. It’s cool that they recognize people and other predators when communicating with other prairie dogs.
Doing outdoor science activities, like making insect catchers and bug houses are his favorite activity; also using rocks and plants to create cool things. Hiking and biking are his favorite ways to see nature. He loves the beach and we go hiking there often. Over thanksgiving he did a really long hard hike (he was 5) in the Grand Canyon. He did amazing. His favorite thing at the Grand Canyon was completing the hike and seeing the amazing views.
