Receive Text UpdatesJake loves to get outside and explore as often as possible, whether on a vacation or in the woods near our home. Jake delights in finding interesting things in nature, especially rocks, volcanos, geysers, and wildlife. We recently visited Yellowstone National Park and Jake was in awe of Old Faithful’s power. Jake already has a deep appreciation for nature and being a good steward of our land.
We have yet to encounter an animal Jake does not love, but he is especially fond of Uinta Ground Squirrels after a recent trip to Wyoming. After seeing them up close and observing them dart in & out of their burrows, Jake can’t stop talking about them. According to Jake they are “the cutest animal ever!” He truly could have sat with them at Mormon Row in GTNP all day!
Hiking is Jake’s favorite outdoor activity. He has hiked in Yellowstone, Grand Teton, Guadalupe Mountains, and Big Bend national parks in the last 3 years. Even before he was old enough to tackle big hikes on his own, Jake tagged along in a backpack on his dad’s shoulders for countless miles in nature. Jake has really fallen in love with hiking in beautiful places and we can’t wait to keep exploring with him in the years to come!
