Jack loves exploring national parks, learning to be a better land steward, and advocating for leaving it just as we arrived. #JrRanger

What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreJack loves walking around and finding new things. He likes learning about volcanoes and visiting them, “as long as they aren’t erupting.” He thinks it’s cool how shield volcanoes are wide and flat like pancakes, while cone volcanoes are tall and pointy. Jack loves visiting national parks with different types of volcanoes and exploring them. He also enjoys looking for bugs and seeing what tiny creatures are hiding. He’s always curious and ready for his next big adventure outside.
Jack’s favorite animal is the sea turtle because “they are so cute” and can live for such a long time. He saw one while kayaking in Hawaii and thought it was amazing! Jack also loves reading books about sea turtles, especially about their life cycle and how they grow. He thinks they’re super interesting and wishes he could spend more time with them!
Jack’s favorite outdoor activity is kayaking because he gets to explore different lakes and the puget sound and never knows what he’ll find. It could be an orca or a seal in the water, discovering a new beach you can only get to by water, or seeing an eagle perched in a tree. He just got his own kayak for the summer and can’t wait to go out and have more adventures!
