Start Their AdventureJack loves the details. A small seed, an animal track, a spider web sparkling with morning dew. He is incredibly observant and full of questions and wonder. Living in a small town nestled in the Rocky Mountains has been a great playground to foster Jack’s wild curiosity and love of the outdoors. We spend most weekends outside hiking, biking, cross country skiing and exploring.
Jack has a lot of favorite animals. He can’t even decide. One of his favorite animals is a gecko. He loves their sometimes vibrant and other times camouflaged colors. He loves their sticky feet, the way they move and their habitats. While Jack had seen lizards in their natural habitats, he would love to visit a spot where he could see a real gecko. Animals in their natural elements are the best! We can learn a lot just by observing them.
Mushroom foraging! Jack’s Dad grew up picking mushrooms in western Ukraine and we are so fortunate to have a similar variety of boletes here in Wyoming. Jack loves finding, picking and cooking his bounty. He sees it as a little treasure hunt made by nature. He is especially good at identifying king and aspen boletes and teaching his little sister all about safe and potentially poisonous varieties.
