What does Isaac love most about nature?

Isaac loves being able to understand the natural world, whether it’s knowing the names of trees by their leaves, spotting poison ivy, finding crystals in rocks or pointing out constellations in the night sky. He loves to draw maps and point out familiar sights on beloved hikes, and he always wants to know more about everything he sees

What is Isaac's favorite animal—and why?

He is drawn to baby animals of any species—tadpoles, caterpillars, fawns, chicks, tiny opossums—and is always inventing stories about animal families. His most consistent imaginary friend is an owl, and he loves telling people about adventures he and his owl had “a long time ago.”

What is Isaac's favorite outdoor activity?

Since he was a tiny kid, he’s loved to splash in and explore rivers and streams: we have a small creek in our front yard, and even as a baby he loved being down there with his feet in the water watching frogs and little fish. Now that he’s a little bigger, he and his friends at school go kayaking on our local river and spend nice days playing on a peninsula and running between the water and the sand.
