Start Their Adventure
Iris has an insatiable curiosity and her teachers appreciate the many questions she asks. Currently, Iris is capturing bird songs/calls using an app on my phone. We use binoculars to watch migrating waterfowl, also. We are fortunate to have many inland lakes, Lake Michigan, and the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore as our playgrounds. I hope Iris never loses her sense of wonder!
In our area, Iris gets excited about insects, fox, bobcat, black bear and otter. We spent time at Disney's Animal Kingdom and Iris was eager to learn everything they had to offer at the Conservation Station while learning about animals from all over the world. Our family is going back there in December.
Iris learned to ride a bike this spring, so we are doing a lot of that. We also spend time walking trails in Michigan and at Mammoth Cave National Park. We love our local Nature Center that has a natural playground. We are looking forward to beach weather in Michigan!
