My child loves all things animals, he loves exploring the backyard for various insects and loves learning about all things nature.
Thank you for generously supporting Henry in this year’s competition. Your participation helps empower the National Wildlife Federation in their mission to protect wildlife, restore habitats, and inspire the next generation of conservationists.
Henry is absolutely fascinated by bugs. Whether it's ants building their tunnels, beetles scuttling through leaves, or butterflies flying by, he can spend hours observing their behavior. He loves to lift rocks, explore tree bark, and peek into garden corners just to discover tiny creatures at work. Nature, for him, is like an open laboratory where he gets to learn something new every day. His curiosity about insects has sparked a deep interest in both engineering and entomology.
Henry’s favorite animals are praying mantises and hummingbirds. He loves how mantises move like tiny robots and how precise and powerful they are. Hummingbirds fascinate him with their speed and ability to hover—he dreams of building a flying robot like one someday. Both creatures inspire his passion for bugs, nature, and engineering.
Henry’s favorite outdoor activities are looking for bugs, bird watching, and helping animals. He loves exploring under rocks for insects, spotting birds with his binoculars, and rescuing worms from sidewalks. Being outside lets him connect with nature, observe wildlife, and imagine ways to protect and study the creatures he loves.
