Henry is the ultimate outdoor kiddo and he loves learning and writing about animals like the red fox, pheasants, and dik diks!
Thank you for generously supporting Henry in this year’s competition. Your participation helps empower the National Wildlife Federation in their mission to protect wildlife, restore habitats, and inspire the next generation of conservationists.
He loves to explore in the forest, looking at plants, animals and wild animal tracks on our family property. Some of his favorite finds have been a wild rabbit's nest, Ensatina and Plethodontid salamanders, elk, and raccoon and bear tracks. Being in nature is a relaxing and intriguing experience for him ever since he was a baby.
Henry doesn't have a single favorite animal because there are so many interesting creatures he's seen and so many he would like to see some day. His favorite game birds are California Quail and Pheasants because they're really pretty and the top feather is really cute. He would like to travel someday to see a Dik dik in East Africa. They're really interesting because they're cute, they have a scent gland on their movable nose and they make a cool whistling sound when they're startled.
Henry likes throwing rocks in the woods while going for walks. We have fun going on hikes on sunny days and splurging on hard candies along the way, especially when we bring cousins along along with fishing gear for fishing in alpine lakes.
