Grayson is fascinated with how God made all creatures to coexist with each other in nature. He loves how each creature has a specific role. He could sit all day and watch leaf cutter ants make their way across the yard carrying tiny pieces of leaves on their back. He's in awe of how carpenter bees can make perfect holes and smooth tunnels inside of tree branches. He can be found on our property watching antlions disappear into their sandpits. You name it, he's witnessed it!
Grayson's favorite animal is a western hognose. He loves their upturned snout that's used for digging in rough soil. He also loves that they have sassy attitudes and can play dead. He's intrigued that the color of their tongue matches the bottom of their belly.
His favorite outdoor activity is exploring our creek for any sign of life. Fish, snakes, turtles, tadpoles, frogs, crawfish, mushrooms and moss all live and grow in our backyard. According to Grayson, "any time I get to spend outside and in the creek is the best kind of afternoon. I love to be barefoot outside because it makes me feel free".
