Learn moreGracelyn loves to observe animals in their natural habitat soaking in their beauty, watching their behavior, and especially listening to the cute little noises they make! When at the beach, you'll find her crabbing, watching the wild horses, and playing in the waves. She unintentionally caught a HUGE snapping turtle, a baby eel and almost a small shark, while just trying to catch crabs!
Though Gracelyn loves all wild animals, her favorite close encounter was a black momma bear and her 3 tiny cubs. She had the opportunity to see them multiple times on camping trips where our family has gone for generations! On this specific trip she got to hear their little huffs and nail scratches as they climbed a tall tree when they noticed her nearby. It was a very awe inspiring moment for her! What makes this even more special is she calls her mommy "Momma Bear" and she is the "Baby Bear"!
Camping is one of Gracelyn's greatest passions. Whether it's with family or Girl Scouts. She loves to hike, fish, swim, and especially go out spotting for bear, deer, coyote, fox and elk! Once she spotted what appeared to be a deer laying in the grass, however, upon closer observation it turned out to be a baby elk! She also enjoys catching tadpoles and baby frogs to get a closer look! At the end of the day, you'll find her relaxing at the fire pit and eating intentionally burnt marshmallows!!
