What is Jr. Ranger?
Learn moreGlacier Fox, almost 5, loves getting muddy in the creek in his backyard, where he finds frogs and salamanders and gives each one a name. He helps care for six ducks and a goose he raised himself, and looks after every creature he meets—from the bees in his hive to snakes, fish, and bugs in the yard. Glacier’s heart is wild and kind, always full of wonder and care for the animals and nature around him.
Glacier’s favorite animal is Jack the Giraffe at the North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro. When he was just 8 months old, Jack was the first giraffe Glacier ever fed by hand! We visit often to give Jack a romaine lettuce snack. Being up close to such a big, gentle animal was super cool to Glacier and helped spark his love for wildlife.
Glacier’s favorite outdoor activity is exploring! He loves searching for critters like worms, bugs, and frogs around his yard. Every day is an adventure filled with new animal friends—"just no coyotes, please!" Whether he’s mucking in the creek or turning over rocks, Glacier is happiest discovering the wild world right outside his door.He even whistles to the birds to mimic their calls.
