Receive Text UpdatesIf Gemma could live outside, she would! She loves everything from her backyard to the beaches and trails all around the island. She loves discovering new plants and flowers and showing them off to anyone who’ll look. At the beach, she’s always searching for shells and coral or spotting monk seals and sea turtles, which she cares about protecting. Nature is her favorite playground, and she’s happiest when she's outside, learning and adventuring.
Gemma’s favorite animal is the Hawaiian green sea turtle, called “honu.” She loves watching them rest on the beach and swim in the ocean. These turtles have big, strong shells to keep them safe and eat seaweed and plants. Gemma enjoys learning about their homes in the ocean and on the shore and how to protect them.
Gemma's favorite outdoor activities include swimming in the warm Pacific Ocean, playing in the sand with her friends, and collecting seashells.
