I love most that nature is a gift. I get to adventure in it and get outside in the great outdoors. I love to explore in creeks with my friends finding crawdads and salamanders. I love that nature inspires me to work hard, like when we backpack for miles to camp under the stars and drink fresh spring water. I also love that nature gives wild game and I can hunt with my family to provide healthy meals. I love nature and want to give back by teaching others to love it as much as me.
My favorite animal is an elk. I respect their strength and think their bugle call is cool! I live close to West Virginia where Tomblin Wildlife Management Area reintroduced 60 elk to the state in 2016. It has been over 100 years since they were driven out. There are now close to 140 elk in West Virginia! I am excited for this and hope to see a herd soon.
My favorite outdoor activity is backpacking because I am in nature every step of the way. I get to hike up climbs, eat wild blackberries, find salamanders, see wild longhorns, meet wild ponies, drink fresh-fresh mountain water, sweat and work hard, set up camp under the stars, hang a hammock, explore deciduous forests, keep food in bear cans, sometimes roast marshmallows, and have the best days and sleeps outside in nature. I also really love hunting with my dad, my grandpas, and my uncle.
