Receive Text UpdatesForest loves observing animals in the wild. His favorite adventures take him above timberline to watch busy pikas gathering grass and sunbathing marmots that sometimes steal hikers' snacks. The challenge of reaching them - climbing steep trails, patiently waiting - makes each sighting special. He tracks prints, listens for coyotes at night, and dreams of deeper wilderness. For Forest, the real joy is in the journey to find wild creatures in their mountain homes.
Forest's favorite animal is the proboscis monkey because of its ridiculous nose and honking howl. He loves imagining these monkeys crashing through Borneo's treetops, their long noses bouncing as they call to each other. To him, they're nature's perfect comedians both awkward and graceful. He dreams of one day seeing them leap between mangrove branches, their noisy chorus echoing through the rainforest as they splash into the water below.
Backpacking in the Sierras is Forest's favorite outdoor adventure. He loves hiking through alpine meadows, camping by crystal lakes, and waking to marmot whistles at sunrise. The challenge of carrying his gear over mountain passes makes him feel strong, while starry nights in his tent fill him with wonder. Every trip brings new discoveries, a hidden waterfall, a bear track, or the perfect sunset view from some rocky peak. For Forest, the Sierras are magic.
